The Columbus Questionable returns to basketball court

Columbus-The Columbus Questionable, a drag basketball entertainment benefit, will return this year on Friday, January 28. It will held at Wall Street Night Club, beginning at 8:00 p.m.

The event is a benefit for Stonewall Columbus and Team Colum-

bus, a networking organization for GLBT sports and recreation groups.

This return engagement of the Columbus Questionable will feature entertainer Mary Ann Brandt, lending her poise, sharp observational wit, and overall beauty to the festivities as this year's

emcee.

This event premièred in December 1998 to great re-

lent sound, viewing, and beverage options without the wind, dust and rain of its more well known step-sister, the Bat 'n' Rouge softball game in June. Also returning with the Columbus Questionable will be crowd participation opportunities, including raffle prizes, a freethrow contest, shooting contest, and other hilarious events.

views. The event's date was moved to a less crowded social calendar time in January, as a way to liven up the blah winter months. So, back from the old drag closet it returns, new and improved. Get your hoop earrings out of your jewelry box and get your tickets now.

Tickets are $4 in advance or $5 at the door and can be purchased at the club, 144 N. Wall Street, and the Stonewall Community Center, 1160 N. High Street. Reserved seating is available.

A great location for this half-court sporting (?) event. Wall Street provides.excel-

In 1998 we saw players such as The Other Katie Smith, Dennis Rodman, Sheila Hurtcha, Shirley Dunkit, Teddi Terrifya and Mackie O' competing for the titles of Mr. and Ms. Question-Mark.

Ms. Tailhook and Mary Katherine Gallager took home these titles in the first Columbus Questionable. We hope that these players will return and we encourage other new sports stars to come on board. Both "men" and "women" are encouraged to compete. Anyone interested in playing (heels are optional, drag is not) should call Stonewall Columbus at 614-299-7764 to reserve a spot on a team.

The event is a benefit for Stonewall Columbus and Team Columbus, a networking organization for the GLBT sports and recreation groups.
